Citigroup Analyst and Internship Interview Questions

If you’re a graduate or a student that has applied to Citigroup, it’s vital that you prepare well for the analyst and internship interview questions if you make it through to that stage.

To help you on your way below is a compilation of actual Citi interview questions, all of which have been used for the analyst and internship programs. This is similar to the Barclays interview questions.

Obviously, this list won’t cover all the bases, even if interviewers are only asking certain types of questions. Too many questions and candidates to cover. Tell me something that is not on your resume.

Give me an example of a situation where you faced an ethical dilemma

Talk about a time you used analysis

What was your proudest moment?

Which of your travels did you like the most?

What makes a good leader?

Justify your appropriateness for the role? How will you contribute?

Tell me about a time when your performance let someone down. Why do you think that happened? What did you learn from that experience? What would you do differently now, knowing what you know?

Looking back through your career, what are some common themes? What are you known for?

What separates Citi from other bulge bracket investment banks?

Have you had a situation where there was a difference of opinion in your team and moving ahead with the approach you thought wasn’t correct? How did you handle it?  

What do you consider as success?

What achievement are you most proud of?

If you were to get this job and then look back in five or ten years, why wouldn’t you think it was a waste of your time?

If you had a client who ran a company that makes shoelaces and who doesn’t know about anything except the shoelace business (i.e. he knows nothing about personal investments), how would you recommend he invest his money and why?

Do you feel confident that we shall select you? If so why?
